Nommy’s creamy Tomatillo and Avocado Salsa is the perfect addition to your favorite burrito, chip platter, tostada, and many other dishes. Tart and creamy, this recipe is safe for gluten free, dairy free, and low-FODMAP diets! Made with bright green tomatillos, rich avocado and some simple additions like serrano peppers, cilantro, and lime, this salsa is a Nommy favorite! We love to make this kid-friendly too - just cut out the serrano peppers!
Creamy Tomatillo Avocado Salsa
Ingredients
1/2 teaspoon avocado oil
3-4 small/medium tomatillos
1/2 an avocado
2 serrano peppers
Handful cilantro
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2-1 teaspoon salt
Juice of 1-2 limes
Directions
Roast peppers and tomatillos in oil until charred and mushy.
Add to a food processor with avocado, cumin, black pepper, salt and lime juice.
Chop cilantro and add to salsa.
Refrigerate for 1-2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
